ABOUT US
Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants, P.A. (R.A.E.) is a full service structural engineering firm established in 1993. Our office works hard to be timely in our responses to field questions and when problems are presented our office “runs toward them” rather than avoid them. We pride ourselves in getting favorable reviews from the contractor side of the business, the people who actually use our drawings. This close collaboration with the contractors ultimately benefits all parties involved including the developers and architects. Our firm has extensive experience in design / build project delivery and fast track projects. Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants has grown to have three licensed engineers, a degreed engineer, eight draftsmen, and are licensed in 29 states.​

RICHARD ADAMS, P.E.
PRESIDENT & PRINCIPAL ENGINEER
Richard Adams has worked in the construction industry for over twenty five years with experience in the Florida market for over twelve years. Mr. Adams has been involved in all aspects of the construction business, as an engineer, as a contractor, and as an engineer for a construction materials manufacturer. He has been responsible for the design and construction of commercial, industrial projects and "large scale" residential with duties in these projects including project estimating, construction project management, structural engineering consulting, and production of contract drawings and documents.
Mr. Adams has twenty five years of construction experience which began as a carpenter apprentice. He is also a former project manager/engineer for R.J. Prossen, Inc, a design/build construction firm which performed all of the design in-house. During this employment Richard Adams' duties included construction project management, as well as all of the structural engineering for the firm. Prior to this employment, Mr. Adams was chief engineer and head of quality control for Double E Structures located in Belmont, California, a pioneer in composite cement based construction materials and a manufacturer of precast concrete structures. He managed projects from single story school buildings and warehouses to six story office buildings. Mr. Adams was also a former regional manager of engineering for 17 western states and international territory for Inryco, Inc. located in Los Angeles, California and project engineer for Inryco, Inc. located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a manufacturer of cold formed steel products. Projects included structural frame and curtain wall systems for multistory buildings up to 37 stories.
Mr. Adams holds a MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of South Florida and graduated with honors from the Milwaukee School of Engineering - Milwaukee, Wisconsin earning a B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering.

LAURA MINTON, P.E.
SENIOR ENGINEER
Laura Minton graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2002. Ms. Minton joined Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants, Inc. in 2002. Laura is a licensed Professional Engineer presently assigned in the engineering department. She provides a wide variety
of tasks for multiple projects including industrial design on tilt wall warehouses, commercial design for retail/medical buildings, residential addition/renovations to custom homes and other specialty engineering projects.

DAVID MAAS, P.E.
SENIOR ENGINEER
David Maas graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2004. Mr. Maas joined Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants, Inc. in 2004. David is a staff engineer providing a wide variety of tasks for multiple project types including office buildings, religious facilities, industrial facilities, laundries, educational facilities, municipal and agricultural buildings. He also specializes in light gauge, tilt wall and other miscellaneous specialty structural projects. This experience has allowed Mr. Maas to become proficient in engineering and understanding the construction process to help any project turn into a success.

KIMBERLY MATOS, E.I.
STRUCTURAL DESIGNER
Kimberly Matos is a great asset to our team. She attended the University of South Florida where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2016. She started at RAE in May of 2016 as she was finishing up her schooling. Kim is a hard-working contributor to our RAE team.
